The Student Association of Economics and Development Studies (HIMESBANG) carries out one of the routine work programs to be held every year, namely National Economic Events (NETs). National Economic Events (NETs) is an annual national seminar activity which is attended by several types of competitions in a series of events. In 2022, NETs will again hold a National Seminar after the last 2 years being a National Webinar due to pandemic conditions. The NETs 2022 event consists of 2 competitions, namely the Economic Case Competition (ECC), and also the Digital Poster Competition (DPC).
The National Seminar was held on September 17, 2022, which took place at the Roedhiro Building FEB UNSOED, with the theme “The Role of the Young Generation in Facing the Challenges of Economic Development to Achieving Indonesia’s Superpower Economy 2050”. The ECC competition uses the theme “Indonesian Economic Challenges Towards Indonesia Superpower 2050” and in the DPC competition with the theme “MSMEs Rise, Indonesian Economy Soars”. From each competition, 3 winning teams were produced for ECC, and 3 Participants who became Winners for DPC.
The NETs 2022 National Seminar presented 2 speakers, the first was Afriyudianto, STP, MM, he is the Head of the Administrative and Student Affairs Subdivision of the Directorate General of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Culture. Furthermore, the second resource person is Dr. Komalawati, S.P., M.Phil. he is a Researcher at the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN).
The seminar was very enjoyable which was attended by more than 200 participants. GEMA also performed a traditional dance as the opening of the seminar. The material presented by the speakers was very interesting, so many seminar participants asked questions to the two speakers, as well as discussions between participants and the two speakers.
The holding of the NETs National Seminar is expected to be a forum for students and other young generations to gain insight into existing economic issues, as well as a means of discussion with a large scope to respond to and address economic issues and government policies in the economic field.
